Work With Us
While we welcome individuals seeking support for a wide range of health concerns, our practice has a special focus on helping those navigating autoimmune disease, immune dysregulation, trauma recovery, and complex, often interconnected chronic health conditions. These areas of expertise reflect both our clinical experience and our commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care for people whose health often requires looking beyond isolated symptoms to understand the whole picture.
Two Ways to Work Together
Acupuncture Session
Personalized acupuncture rooted in the wisdom of Chinese medicine.
Acupuncture sessions are ideal for individuals seeking focused care through the time-honored principles of Chinese medicine. Each visit includes a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, with the flexibility to adapt as your health evolves.
Depending on your goals, your session may include:
• Comprehensive health review
• Acupuncture treatment
• Traditional Chinese medicine assessment
• Pulse and tongue evaluation
• Lifestyle and wellness recommendations
• Nutritional guidance
• Chinese herbal recommendations when appropriate
• Cupping, gua sha, or other adjunctive therapies when clinically indicated
• Collaborative treatment planning
Whether you're addressing an acute concern, managing a chronic condition, or investing in preventative wellness, acupuncture sessions are designed to support your body's natural ability to regulate, recover, and thrive.
Rather than choosing from a long list of treatments, we offer two thoughtfully designed ways to experience care. Both are rooted in individualized attention, compassionate partnership, and evidence-informed practice. The difference lies in the scope of the experience.
Signature Expansion Session
An integrative experience designed entirely around you.
The Signature Expansion Session offers the opportunity to draw from the full breadth of Dr. Alexis Belfiore's clinical experience and integrative training.
Rather than focusing on a single modality, these sessions are designed around one simple question:
What will best serve this person today?
Each appointment is thoughtfully tailored and may integrate acupuncture alongside other evidence-informed and complementary approaches as appropriate.
Depending on your needs, your session may incorporate:
• Acupuncture
• Chinese medicine
• Functional medicine principles
• Five Element constitutional assessment
• Nervous system regulation
• Medical intuitive assessment
• BodyTalk Systems
• Energetic medicine
• Flower essence recommendations
• Sound and vibrational therapies
• Crystal therapy
• Nutritional and lifestyle guidance
• Mind-body practices
• Personalized wellness planning
Every Expansion Session is unique because every person is unique.
This is not a predetermined protocol.
It is a collaborative, individualized experience that draws from the right tools at the right time to support your health in the most meaningful way.
Areas of Focus
Trauma Recovery & Nervous System Health
Chronic stress and trauma can profoundly influence how the nervous system and immune system function. Care is designed to help restore regulation, improve resilience, and create conditions that support healing.
Autoimmune Disease & Immune Regulation
Living with autoimmune disease often means managing more than a diagnosis. Fatigue, pain, digestive concerns, brain fog, stress, and unpredictable flares can affect every aspect of life. Our goal is to support your body's resilience through individualized acupuncture and integrative care while working alongside your existing medical team when appropriate.
Chronic Health Conditions
Whether you've recently received a diagnosis or have spent years searching for answers, care begins by understanding the whole picture—not just isolated symptoms.
Care Designed Around You
No two people arrive with the same story, and no two treatments should be exactly alike.
At Expansion Point Wellness, every session is thoughtfully personalized to your goals, health history, and the unique way your body responds. Whether you're seeking support for a specific health concern or simply looking to cultivate greater balance and wellbeing, our work begins with listening.
Together, we'll determine the approach that's best suited to your needs, creating care that evolves alongside your health.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know which session is right for me?
Not at all.
If you're unsure, we'll help you determine which option best aligns with your goals and answer any questions you may have before your appointment.
Is the Expansion Session a substitute for acupuncture?
No. Acupuncture may be an important part of an Expansion Session. The difference is that the session allows for a broader, more integrative approach, drawing from additional clinical tools and therapies when appropriate.
How many treatments will I need?
Frequency depends on your specific health goals and chronicity of symptoms. For acute issues, a few sessions may suffice. For long-standing chronic conditions, a series of 6-10 weekly treatments is often recommended to establish lasting neurological and systemic change.
How does acupuncture actually work?
Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice rooted in Chinese medicine that uses very fine, sterile needles to gently stimulate specific points on the body. These points help regulate the flow of qi (vital energy) and support the nervous, circulatory, and immune systems. Many people experience acupuncture as deeply relaxing; over time, it can help reduce pain, calm the nervous system, and support the body’s natural capacity to heal and rebalance.
Does it hurt?
Most people find acupuncture to be a deeply relaxing experience. The needles are hair-thin—much smaller than a standard medical needle. You may feel a slight pinch upon insertion or a dull, heavy sensation, but many patients fall asleep during their session.
What should I do to prepare for my visit?
We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and having a light meal or snack about an hour before your appointment. Try to avoid caffeine immediately before your session so your nervous system can settle into a restorative state.
